About Macroeconomics

The faculty in macroeconomics at Penn State engage in a wide variety of research. Among the topics studied are labor, household finance, money, and optimal taxation. The unifying methodology is the rigorous study of coherent intertemporal, stochastic models. A sample of recent completed research is listed below. There is an almost weekly workshop in macro at which invited scholars present their research. In addition, there is a two-day Cornell-Penn State macro workshop, held twice a year, at which faculty and graduate students from Cornell and Penn State and other invited scholars present their research.
