Admission to the Honors Program in Economics

Admission to the Honors Program is by invitation of the Department. The decision is based on an assessment of the student's academic performance, his or her interest in and work in courses in economics, and potential for success in the program. Upon application, students from other disciplines may be admitted to the program. All students admitted to the program should have completed Economics 2, 4, 302, and 304 by the time they begin the program. Students may take the program in either their junior or senior year, although it is most common for students to take it in their final year.

A student must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 to remain in the program after admission.
